What is a group of hippos called?

A group of hippos is called a "bloat", "pod", or "herd". These social animals live in groups of up to 30 individuals, consisting of females and their offspring, with a dominant male as the leader. Hippos communicate with each other through various vocalizations and also use their sense of smell to identify members of their own group and to distinguish strangers. They spend most of their time in water to avoid overheating and sunburn, often submerging themselves completely for up to six minutes at a time. Despite their often calm and lazy demeanor, hippos can be quite aggressive and territorial, especially when defending their young.
